TMA 402 proposes sample limits as to length (convetionally Z axis) but limits in x and y. Can be known?

This depends on the mode.

Sample holder systems, interchangeable:

- Materilas: Fused silica (up to 1000°C) and Al2O3 (1550°C) for the

- Modes: expansion, penetration, 3-point bending, tension

Sample length (max.): 30mm (10 and 20 mm free bending length for 3-point bending)

Automatic length determination:

- Yes, in expansion and penetration mode

- Option in tension mode (reference sample required)

- Not in Bending mode

Sample diameter (max.):

12 mm (10 mm for Al2O3 fixtures)

Dear friends;

Using TMA 402 and considering z   //  the force axis  and  x=y=a  the sides of the section or base of sample, I ask: Is there any tip or recomendation for z/a (aspect ratio) of the sample for penetration and expension mode ? Is there any for tension mode. ?

Sample fixture set for expansion measurements in the temperature range from -150 to 1000 °C. Maximum sample dimensions|30mm, Ø 12 mm.
