We recently replaced the motherboard of an older Waters 2695 module (circa 2006) with a new ethernet board and installed firmware 3.03. The upgrade seems to work fine - the 2695 initializes without problems and communicates with an Empower 3 computer. However, the seal wash pump comes on (clicking noise) whenever the module is pumping mobile phase. The clicking stops when the pumping is stopped. This did not happen with the old motherboard.

My questions are:

(1) Is this normal for firmware 3?

(2) If so, how do you stop/disable it?

Many thanks for your help!

Thanks for your reply. Could you please elaborate, particularly on the "the compatible Valve due to different voltage input" part?

They DO make a light clicking noise....do you see solvent going through the white TFE lines wit air bubbles?

Thanks for your response. In my case, the clicking is about 1 second apart and very consistant.....much more frequent than a normal 2695 pumping.
