Hello,

We are using an old Molecular Devices ThermoMax plate reader, and have noticed that it has developed a problem where the entire plate tray will eject once we initiate a measurement at any wavelength or sequence. The measurement will then be performed with the plate tray ejection, and the error message of "Insufficient Light" will be presented. We have replaced the lamp but cannot find any information about the tray ejecting, which we believe is causing the problem. Has anyone experienced this? It is not addressed in their manual.

Hello,

We can repair your Thermomax but that will not be economically feasible it will be throwing good money after bad.

I suggest to upgrade to a VersaMax, this way you still have the SoftmaxPro to operate the VersaMax plus you have yourself a better machine.

We have a refurbished VersaMax that I can offer at a very reasonable price. Please contact  A&K Biosource if you are interested.
