We are getting a d33 error with a SW32 rotor. I have replaced the overspeed disc. the rotor will ru at 25k xg, but will 'trip off' at 27k xg.

Are you sure that you used the correct overspeed disk for the SW32 rotor? The fact that it goes up to 27K before tripping would seem to indicate that you don't have the correct disk in play. Also, depending on what overspeed disk pickoff is currently installed on your centrifuge versus the revision of the overspeed disk itself could be an issue. There are known incompatabilities between some versions of the overspeed disks and some of the overspeed pickoffs. Kind of difficult to troubleshoot the issue from where I'm sitting but I know that there have been even more changes since I retired back in 2012.
