Hi Glenn C,

There are several things that can cause an imbalance error to occur. I recommend you contact our Technical Support team at 800-438-4851 in North America. If you are located in another region of the world, please use the ‘Contact Us’ link on the thermoscientific.com homepage and select your country and product line to find the correct telephone number (or submit a request for help). Kindly retrieve the serial number of the unit prior to contact so that the team can verify the exact model and age of the unit.

I hope this information helps,

Hi Glenn,

Did you ever get this resolved?

One of the most common reasons for imbalance with a swing-out rotor is not removing and replacing the grease on the trunnions of the buckets. (Dirty grease having picked up particles is often the culprit.) If one bucket moves more slowly than the others because it is sticking (through friction) even very slightly, then a significant imbalance can occur.

If the problem is not sorted, please contact me.

Regards,
