If this happens when the unit is spinning, it is probably the spindle bearing.  It could be the motor bearings, but the odds are greater that the spindle is the problem.  If you can hear the noise when you spin the rotor by hand (power off), you can isolate the problem by removing the drive belt and spinning the spindle and motor separately.  Good luck!  Ric
