Can a HP 5890 GC work with a HP 5970 MSD?

Can a HP 5890 GC be set up to work with a HP 5970 MSD? Do I need software or driver to work with the GC? My workstation is setup to work with the MSD 5970. Please advise...

yes you can. in configuration editor set the gc from "other or none" to 5890. then set the HPIB address. you will also need HPIB interface in the 5890 and set an HBIP address on it.
