Extended mass range triple quadrupole LC/MS enables routine analysis of high mass-to-charge peptide ions 
 
High m/z peptide ions provide important biological information concerning the size and location of post-translation modifications. The mass range of the Agilent 6495B Triple Quadrupole LC/MS system extends to m/z 3000, which is ideal for detecting large peptide fragments. 
In this application, we used the 6495B to detect fragment-ion signals arising from peptides representing each of the targeted proteins. This approach is extremely sensitive, very reproducible, and quantitatively precise.

Reports of contamination by illegal pesticides and adulterants have prompted increased scrutiny of food safety and origin. Triple quadrupole LC/MS can help you meet this challenge by simultaneously monitoring hundreds of potential contaminants. 
In this application, we developed an analytical MRM method targeting mycotoxins, illegal dyes, and pesticides in spices. The highly sensitive Agilent 6495B Triple Quadrupole LC/MS system enabled precise, accurate quantitation of these excipients—with reduced matrix effects and improved method robustness. 
 
Sensitive, high-throughput triple quadrupole UHPLC determination of PPCPs in water using optimized MS cycle times 
 
From heroin and cardamom… to rocket fuel and birth control active ingredients… scientists worldwide are encountering trace amounts of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in the water we drink. Often, these compounds are not completely removed during sewage treatment, allowing drug-tainted wastewater to contaminate major sources of drinking water. 
The high accuracy, precision, and analytical sensitivity of the Agilent 6495B Triple Quadrupole LC/MS system enables direct injection of water samples with prior sample pre-concentration. In this example, we performed screening and quantitative analyses of 32 PPCPs in surface water samples at levels as low as 0.5 ng/L (ppb).
