LabWrench Attends Pittcon!

February 25, 2010 - LabWrench to be showcased at Pittcon 2010 in Orlando.

LabWrench is a unique social networking website for scientific professionals. The vision of a LabWrench-style platform has been a dream of ours for many years. In operating LabX (our new and used equipment marketplace) we have encountered many requests from owners and operators of laboratory equipment who have questions about their equipment. With no central resource on the web already in existence, it was clear where our attention was needed; and so construction began nearly two years ago.

LabWrench is a comprehensive database of knowledge for laboratory equipment, and in the months and years to come will bring together the information that is scattered around the web in various discussion forums, literature and user-groups. In time, each of the features and functions of LabWrench will be aimed at providing the most complete and efficient lab professional networking experience, serving as the central meeting point for all conversations around current and late model products.

We are calling LabWrench a "Product-Focused Social Network" because members may interact and connect to each other, however, those connections will be based on product relationships (people working with the same equipment and facing the same challenges). In many ways "The Wrench" - as we like to call it - also becomes an archive of valuable information and history about each product product Wiki of sorts. So it is in this way that we bring together all of the aspects of a Web 2.0 world and apply our years of industry experience to develop this unique website serving the scientific community.

This year at Pittcon in Orlando, attendees can visit LabX and LabWrench at booth 3635 for a live demo of the website. Everyone who signs up for a LabWrench account will be entered into a draw for an Amazon Kindle. The draw will take place Thursday March 4 at 12:00 p.m.

LabX (www.labx.com) and our publication Lab Manager Magazine (www.labmanager.com) give us the existing user-base and promotional mediums to make LabWrench a huge success. We expect LabWrench to fully develop over time and we are committed to building new features and functions to make navigating the site as easy as possible. Very soon, all three of our web properties will be integrated and will share applicable information across each platform.

At this time, I'd like to introduce Melanie Playne, the Product Manager in charge of LabWrench. Feel free to send us questions, suggestions or improvements of any kind and we will continue to develop LabWrench with your valued input.
