To analyze materials that are soluble in water or aqueous liquids, we normally recommend SediSperse A series liquids. Another liquid that could be used is mineral spirits which is a mixture of aliphatic hydrocarbons commonly employed as a solvent or cleaner. The advantage of SediSperse, however, is the special formulation which includes surfactants and dispersants for more easily separating the particles for analysis. Another method is to create a saturated solution of the sample and liquid, filter out the residue and use the saturated liquid as the suspension liquid. For further information on SediSperse series complete dispersants request product bulletin number 33.
