Dionex/DX-500 - OQ/PQ of Dionex DX-500
I have a DIonex DX-500 system with the following components: GP40 Pump, AS50 autosampler, ED40 electrochemical detector with conductivity and electrochemical cells all running with peaknet software. I am seeking an OQ/PQ procedure that will cover both the conductivity and electrochemical cells. My local representative says that if I already tested the instrument with the conductivity cell, then just checking precision with a few injections on the electrochemical cell are sufficient. To me this sounds less than minimalistic. What about linearity and sensitivity? But I have no idea, maybe he is right? He strikes me as not being very knowledgeable and mainly seeking to sell me a new instrument. Advise this member.

Nikon/Eclipse MA200 - Motion knobs
Is anyone using this scope? It looks awkward to use with the motion knobs located so close to the front. Advise this member.

TA Instruments/Q600 - Sample pan stuck
While attempting to run a temp cal on silver I forgot to adjust my final temp to 1000C and the unit ended up heating to 1500C which is the default for temp calibrations. Now the platinum sample pan is stuck to the platinum sample beam platform. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this pan off? I tried heating up to 600C and then open the furnace but as we all know it won't let you open until it hits certain cool down temp. I still can't get the pan removed. Suggestions? Advise this member.

Microarray Platforms: Beads, Slides or Chips?

Since its advent in 1995, miniaturized microarray analysis has become a mainstay analytical technique of genomic, proteomic, pharmaceutical and clinical laboratories worldwide. The initial microarray chips, developed by Pat Brown at Stanford University, utilized oligonucleic acid probes deposited on a substrate to discover the genomic composition of cells. After this initial focus, the technology rapidly expanded to utilize other, related probes (such as DNA, RNA, peptides, carbohydrates).
