DayGlo Science

Glowing green and swimming off the corner of the picture, the eel looked unnatural, as if it had been Photoshopped with DayGlo colors. “That darn eel,” says biologist David Gruber, led to a weeklong eel-catching expedition near the sandy beaches of Lee Stocking Island in the Bahamas.

Gruber teaches biology and environmental science at Baruch College in Manhattan, but his passion is scuba diving with dinoflagellates, a phylum of single-celled organisms that contains some species that glow brightly, lighting up darkened seas.

On-column injection
I am attempting to configure my GC-2010 to have an on-column injection setup. However, I am continuously getting pressure loss errors even though there is no leak in the system. Does anyone know what flow settings (direct, spilt, splitless) etc I need to pick to make this error go away?

Dionex ASE 350 collection tray not turning
Been having a problem today with the collection tray not turning properly. It sounds like it's catching somewhere or getting stuck, but we can't figure out where it's griding against. We have taken out the tray and cleaned it and the tray bed, but no improvement. Can anyone help?

Technical problem with Leco CN-2000
I am trying to get a Leco CN-2000 up and running. One of the many problems that I am facing is long combustion times, around 8 min per sample. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this issue? I would like to get the combustion time down to under 4 min.
