Limber LIMS

With today’s high-throughput technologies and state-of-the-art tools, laboratories around the world are generating mountains of data at unprecedented rates. The traditional approaches to data management—notes jotted in lab notebooks, multiple spreadsheet files tucked away in computer folders, and images of gels and computer printouts stashed in 3-ring binders—no longer suffice. As a result, many researchers are turning to computerized laboratory information management systems (LIMS)—database applications that can help collect, organize, and track information about the samples being analyzed and the data being generated in the lab.

Eppendorf 5417r error 6
We have a 5417r that throws error code 6 when you try to stop it from a run. I have cleaned and made sure that the rotor is tight. I have also tried the waiting 5 min with both the power off and power on before trying to run the unit. I am guessing here that the problem would be in the circuit board rahter than the motor. but before I waste a lot of money is this a correct diagnosis? Any help would really be appreciated in diagnosing this problem. we don't have the funds to have someone repair it for us and are trying to do this ourselves.

How to change variant calls to three on the software?
I am doing SNP genotyping on ViiA7 using HRM technique. In my align plot I can see the possibility of three varaints but siftware is showung only two. I am just guessing that it could be a software issue which can be sorted by changing the variant call settings. I tried to do that from the tab Advance seeting and then in HRM settings. As it is for SNP I am intended to set the value on 3 for variant call but it pops up with the message that you can enter value between four and 18. Can someone help me how can I adjust to variant call 3?
