Evolution of Fume Hoods
A fume hood is an essential piece of equipment found in almost all laboratories, from teaching labs to research labs to industrial labs. The fume hood limits exposure to hazardous or noxious fumes, vapors or dusts by safely removing these substances from the immediate working environment. The fume hood also serves to protect the sample from the external environment.

The Right Choice for CO2 Incubators
CO2 incubators are designed to copy a cell’s natural environment with a relative humidity of around 95 percent, a temperature of 37°C and a pH of 7.2 to 7.5. They are most common in biology labs performing tissue or cell culture and are used in any process where cells need to be cultured for a few hours or many weeks or where cells need to be expanded or maintained.

Titrators: Myriad Methods for Quantifying Unknowns
There are two major titrator types: potentiometric acid-based designs and Karl Fischer titrators. Those in the first group, which use a pH or redox probe, resemble pH meters in their ability to derive acid strength and total acidity; Karl Fischer titrators measure water content in foods, materials, biofuels, etc.

BioMATE 6 UV Spectrophotometer
I happened to connect the TPS-1500W bath system to BioMATE 6 which was functioning properly. Now it cannot finish initialization with ERROR 3093 dark signal too large. I checked the sample chamber is well closed though the black pipes pass though the left hole. Any advise on what to do?

We have Beckman optima XL-80 ultracentrifuge and vacuum is not going below 40 micron. We replaced the diffusion pump oil but it still stuck at 40 micron. What are the other possible reasons for low vacuum? Is there a solution other than changing diffusion pump oil and vacuum pump oil?

Temperature Control Issues
Hi We have a TLX ultracentrifuge and are experiencing issues relating to the temperature control. Once started the temperature rises slowly and eventually reaches the 3 degree variation whereby spins end prematurely. We have noticed that if we hit the stop button the temperature goes quickly to the desired set point. Is this a repairable condition? All fans have been cleaned and the problem still exists.

Erlab’s CaptairBio PCR time and energy, while keeping your samples safe.
The CaptairBio PCR Workstations uses UV lamp, which allows the working environment to be decontaminated in order to prevent contamination of samples between PCR operation. The filtration of the fume hood is controlled by a fan that draws in air from the laboratory and passes it through a HEPA H14 filter, which is over 99.995% effective at trapping particles over 0.3 microns in size, thereby creating an ultra-clean working atmosphere.
