 Product Resources: Particle Sizing

Particle Sizing - Many size domains, many approaches

Particle sizing methods range from simple sieving to microscopy, imaging, and laser-based techniques that measure and characterize down to molecular scale. Approaches to particle sizing differ as widely, technologically, as the sample types, but in many instances the approaches are orthogonal or complementary

Plenty of discussions are happening on LabWrench all the time. We have many questions come in daily from users that are seeking advice from fellow users and lab professionals on LabWrench. Can you help any of these users find the answers they are looking for?

Fluorescence Polarization using 355 and 460 w/ X5
We are doing Fluorescence Polarization using 355 and 460 and getting an error that the light source is not strong enough. It is a new bulb and we can do FP at other wavelengths and get no error? Any thoughts? Help this member

Good lab scale vacuum regulator?
We need an instrument that will regulate vacuum levels coming off a lab water aspirator. Ideally this would connect in-line with the vacuum source and could programmed to a desired vacuum level, venting when the pressure fluctuated down. Does anyone have a recommendation for such a device? Help this member

Slope out of Spec.
I have been having issues with the slope reading when calibrating the meter. The slope is consistently low. We noticed that the mV readings are all low as well(measured with pH buffer 7 and 4). Could this affect our slope reading? If so, is there a calibration buffer for mV? Help this member

Mastecycler 5331
Could you please help me I have an eppendorf termalcycler but this message appears: Tsensor 2 err. What should I do? Help this member

 Question Of The Week!!

EST Analytical Cobra Autosampler
Posted By: Joe Burge

Has anyone else had any experience with the Cobra GC autosampler? I cannot add them as a manufacturer since they are not in the drop-down menu.

We have four of these autosamplers, and we have been experiencing reliability issues. We contacted the manufacturer after returning several units for factory service with no resolution. They sent a service engineer, he spent two days performing PM's and literlally the day he left two of the units had critical failures.

We are looking at replacing all the units, I just wanted to hear if anyone else had any similiar experiences? Help this member
