Time to Upgrade? CO2 Incubators

As the heart of the lab and its workflow, CO2 incubators can make or break the facility’s overall productivity.

Douglas Wernerspach, business manager of CO2 and constant temperature at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Waltham, MA), says researchers depend on CO2 incubators to be reliable and provide uniform conditions for cells.

“If you don’t have a viable quantity of cells, it’s very difficult to proceed very much further from there with your experimentation, so the performance of the CO2 incubator is important,” he says.

Once the unit can no longer provide that consistency and reliability, is having frequent contamination issues, or the system is becoming more costly and difficult to maintain, it could be time to buy new. Changing application needs could also necessitate an upgrade, vendors say.  Read more about evaluating your CO2 incubators.

Malfunctioning Tune Setting on Avantium Crystal16
I am a current user of a Crystal16 system and I'm having issues with the transmission detection. The transmission reads 100% for any material that is not completely opaque (colored solutions, solutions with suspended particles visible to the eye, clear solutions) and 0% for anything opaque, like the end of a pen. I have the tune step set in the program to be used with a clear version of the solution I try and the self test system does not return any errors. Anyone have any suggestions or fixes?  Help this member.

Connection timeout error on AAS 6800 shimadzu... need help!
We have AAS 6800 Shimadzu but it has an error now showing: "Connection time out". I have tried to fix all the data cables but this error still appears. I checked my computer operating system and see that it is Windows 2000. I read installation guide of AAS 6800 software and they say that the software is only suitable for Windows 95, 98, NT. I am wondering if the error might be that my computer operating system, Windows 2000 is higher than requested so made that error. I would be grateful if you could help me resolve this problem.
