J.G. Finneran Introduces Versatility for Sample Vials

The Versa Vial™ offers the largest target opening area of any autosampler vial on the market

By combining a wide mouth with a tapered neck, the Versa Vial™, by J.G. Finneran Associates, simplifies the task of routinely preparing samples for autosamplers. The vase-like neck design of the Versa Vial™ has a 9mm opening, which is the largest target opening area available for any autosampler vial. With this unique design, it is easier to add samples to the vials using a pipette, and safer to empty the vials.  Problems generally associated with crimping and decapping, such as cracked necks and dangerous sharp edges from aluminum seals, are eliminated.  The elongated pick-up area in the neck accommodates variations in the robotic arm settings allowing this vial to be used with most autosamplers, including Agilent, CTC, Finnegan, PerkinElmer, Varian, and the Waters Alliance instruments.

The 12x32mm Versa Vial™ is available in clear or amber Type I borosilicate glass, or polypropylene, which is ideal for ion chromatography applications.  The vials can be sealed with either a 12mm polyethylene plug, PTFE/silicone plug or a chlorobutyl/siliconized plug.  The polyethylene plug has a conical starburst design that eases autosampler needle penetration, and an extended tab to simplify plug insertion and removal. The softer PTFE/silicone and chlorobutyl/siliconized plugs press-fit securely into the neck opening and are autoclavable.

“Users tell us the Versa Vial™ is an economical and time-saving addition to their analytical workflow because it accommodates different sample preparation procedures, yet still works with their existing autosamplers,” said Janet Cohen, International Sales and Marketing Manager at J.G. Finneran Associates. “Laboratories have standardized on the Versa Vial™ because it gives them one type of vial with which they can manage a wide range of sample types,” she added.

Unique chromatography sample vials and closures manufactured by J.G. Finneran Associates are available internationally from a network of laboratory dealers.
