High-Pressure Chemical Reactors

Supercritical Fluid Technologies has introduced a line of stirred reactors for high-pressure chemistry. The HPR-Series reactors are designed for researchers performing pressurized chemical reactions in their laboratories and are suitable for a range of laboratory- and research-scale applications.

The reactors range in size from 50 mL to 4 L and may be operated up to 10,000 psi and 350 C. Each reactor has a built-in mixer with a magnetically coupled impeller for optimal combining conditions. All high-pressure components are ASME rated, and protected by software high alarms and a rupture disc for safe operation. The compact, modular design of the reactors allow them to fit and operate in a fume hood.

Functions for the HPR-Series reactor are controlled by choices of three integrated RxTrol processors. The RxTrol Sr. offers advanced features using a microcontroller to perform PID, ramp/soak, process trending, data acquisition, mixing, and interlock functions. The RxTrol Jr. consists of two temperature sensors and fuzzy logic PID temperature and mixing controls in a tabletop assembly. The RxTrol B consists of two temperature sensors and an open-loop mixer speed control via 0 to 100% power output knob.
