New Eppendorf µCuvette G1.0™ allows life scientists to analyze even smaller sample volumes

Eppendorf has introduced the new Eppendorf µCuvette™ G1.0, designed for accurate and reliable measurement of small volumes of highly concentrated biomolecules, such as proteins and nucleic acids. Users can work easily with samples as small as 1.5 μL without the need for a time-consuming dilution step.

The µCuvette G1.0 expands the measuring range of the Eppendorf BioPhotometer® and the Eppendorf BioSpectrometer®. Synchronized apertures mean that a closed system is created when used alongside Eppendorf detection instruments, for optimum results and reliable operation.

“Photometric measurements are only as accurate as the device and corresponding accessory,” said Dr. Tanja Musiol, Global Product Manager Detection at Eppendorf AG. “Selecting the perfect cuvette is just as important as choosing the right device. Higher sample concentrations require a shorter optical path length for measurement. The optical path length of the μCuvette G1.0 is just 1 mm, ten times shorter than the light path length of standard cuvettes. This provides a better system for measurements at high concentrations.”

Eppendorf has a worldwide reputation as producers of premium laboratory equipment. The µCuvette G1.0 expands the company’s extensive range of products for micro-volume applications.
