TuffCoat 2 (TC2) Ribbons are now available for use with Primera’s Signature Slide Printer
Specimen misidentification on slides can be a major risk in lab operations due to the difficulty of reading handwritten patient data or the use of difficult-to-apply xylene-resistant labels. That’s why direct-to-slide printers such as Primera’s Signature Slide Printer have recently become popular in laboratories all over the world.
Primera’s original ribbons for its Signature Slide Printer offered an acceptable degree of resistance to the chemicals typically found in pathology and histology labs. However, more rigorous procedures in some processing equipment demanded even tougher inks. Primera has responded to this need with its most chemical, temperature and abrasion-resistant ribbons ever. Called TuffCoat 2 (TC2), these new ribbon formulations were specifically developed to deliver superior performance in pathology, histology, cytology and other types of laboratory applications.
Key features and benefits of TC2 ribbons include:
- Available in black monochrome and CMYK
- Highly heat and chemical-resistant, even if touched while wet with chemicals such as xylene or acetone
- Instantly dry and permanent – no heat, fans or IR light treatment is necessary
- Works on a much wider variety of commonly-used slides and brands
- Lower heat and print head pressure – contributes to superior reliability and longer intervals between print head replacement
“Signature Slide Printer has quickly built a reputation as a reliable, fully-featured instrument at a reasonable cost,” said Mark D. Strobel, Primera’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Now, our users can be more confident than ever that when text and bar codes are printed onto slides, those images are really going to be permanent.”
