Kapa Biosystems, Inc. today announced the launch of the latest library preparation products for Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) DNA and RNA analysis. The new KAPA HyperPlus Kit is an integrated DNA fragmentation and library preparation solution, enabling industry-leading library construction efficiency and more uniform sequencing coverage. The new KAPA Stranded RNA-Seq Kit with RiboErase offers efficient ribosomal RNA (rRNA) depletion, resulting in comprehensive representation of the transcriptome. Kapa Biosystems, in partnership with key customers, is presenting recent product performance data at the 2015 Advances in Genome Biology and Technology (AGBT) Meeting in Marco Island, FL on February 25th – 28th.
These latest NGS library preparation productsoffer significant workflow and performance advantages compared to competitive offerings:
? KAPA HyperPlus Kit – Streamlined, single-tube workflow that enables DNA fragmentation and library preparation in 2.5 hours with minimal hands on time. The KAPA HyperPlus Kit provides the same low-bias, high-quality benefits of mechanical shearing—without the workflow bottlenecks and associated capital expenditure and consumable costs. Researchers are able to achieve a tunable, reproducible and robust fragmentation profile across a broad range of DNA inputs (1 ng - 1 µg) and sample types, including challenging FFPE tissue. The integrated workflow significantly increases library construction efficiencies, resulting in lower duplication rates, increased library diversity and more uniform sequencing coverage. The versatile kit enables a wide range of applications from human whole-exome to microbial whole-genome sequencing. Available now, the KAPA HyperPlus Kit is compatible with all Illumina® sequencers and can be automated on a variety of liquid handling platforms.
? KAPA Stranded RNA-Seq Kit with RiboErase – RNA library preparation solution that utilizes a targeted enzymatic depletion method to reduce rRNA by up to 99.9 percent. When compared to mRNA enrichment methods, rRNA depletion of RNA samples results in a more complete representation of the transcriptome that includes precursor mRNAs and long non-coding RNAs. The KAPA Stranded RNA-Seq Kit with RiboErase also offers improved coverage of difficult GC-rich and low-abundance transcripts.
“These latest library preparation products underscore our commitment to providing customers with the most advanced reagents to improve sequencing performance and maximize throughput—even for challenging, low-quality and low-input clinical research samples,” said Brian Komorous, Director of Marketing at Kapa Biosystems. “For the first time, the new KAPA HyperPlus Kit provides researchers with all of the benefits of unbiased mechanical shearing with a much faster and easier single-tube library preparation workflow.”
