Sartorius, a leading international laboratory and pharmaceutical equipment supplier, officially opened a new Application Center at its North American headquarters in Bohemia, New York last week. Among the guests at the Grand Opening event were representatives from local government, customers and business partners from the biopharmaceutical industry and industry media.
The New York Sartorius Application Center gives access to multiple systems from upstream to
downstream processing with a focus on single-use. The demonstration laboratories present equipment according to application and show how individual systems work together for a complete process solution.
The new 40,000 square foot facility is designed to cultivate innovation, and provide an unparalleled
customer experience in the following four areas:
FlexLab – A unique showroom where customers will see a comprehensive display of our bioprocess
equipment portfolio, and where we will conduct interactive product demonstrations.
Applications Lab – Additional product testing and customer trials.
Training Center – Customers can get more in-depth knowledge and specific training for their needs
R&D – A team of scientists and engineers develops and tests innovative products such as single-use bioreactors and freeze/thaw equipment.
In her opening remarks, Mary Lavin, President of the Sartorius companies in North America,
acknowledged the strategic importance of opening an Application Center here. “With this new resource in place, we can offer our customers and employees the opportunity to see, train and use many of our innovated products, and with an R &D team based in the US we are now closer to one of the most important markets for Sartorius.”
