The AHP-301MSP Stirring Bead Bath can maintain samples from 0 °C to 50 °C using thermoelectric (Peltier) technology. A Pulse Width Modulating (PWM) temperature controller is integral to the new design. The controller allows the Stirring Bead Bath to cool to a specific temperature and hold the temperature 24/7. Long term, consistent and stable temperature control is achieved while maintaining sample mix. There is a built in temperature sensor or the end user can use a remote temperature sensor. Either sensing method is well calibrated and tolerance to +/-.5 or better can be expected.
Stirring baths help maintain temperature uniformity and solution mixing in a liquid sample. However, typical laboratory baths that rely on ice or water are prone to waterborne contamination. This can skew results and ruin samples. The Stirring Bead Bath model AHP-301MSP is a compact bench top product that cools and heats samples while mixing the contents. The stirring bead bath uses aluminum Thermal Lab Beads in place of water to conduct the heat away from the sample vessel. Magnetic stir bars maintain mix of the sample vessel's contents. The AHP-301MSP includes adjustable speed for the magnetic stirring from 100-1,000 RPM. Stirring can be turned off for the product to double as an Electric Ice Bucket.
The system is an air cooled device and can be powered with 100-240 VAC 50/60 Hz power. When not used as a stirrer it can double as an Electric Ice Bucket, keeping samples cool or hot with no racks or accessories needed. Sample vials and vessels can easily slide into the Thermal Lab Beads and remain in place until the user moves them. Floating samples and trips to the ice machine are eliminated.
