A & D Weighing announces the launch of the EK-EP Series Intrinsically Safe Compact Balances. Three models have capacities of 300 g, 3000 g and 12 kg. They are FM (Factory Mutual) approved for both US and Canada for Zone 0 or Division 1 atmospheres where vapors are constantly present and could be accidently ignited.
At a list price of $1,550 each, the EK-EP offers an unprecedented level of affordability. Because the balances are powered by four AA batteries, rather than AC electrical mains, they do not require installation by a qualified electrician, realizing additional significant savings for the user. The EK-EP can be placed in service immediately when received.
The portable design means that weighing can be done where and when needed. Weighing can take place near the vapor source or inside fume hoods and explosion-proof enclosures.
