Making shear rheological measurements on samples with a high solids fraction can present difficulties on a rotational rheometer, since the sample can be prone to fracture even at low-medium shear rates. It is possible to extend the measurement range for such samples using a squeeze flow technique which utilizes the advanced axial capabilities of the Kinexus rheometer.
