Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has launched new Polar Series thermostatic laboratory chillers, the Accel 250 and Accel 500. They offer an extremely efficient workflow with a small footprint and very low noise levels; less than 58 dBA along with a unique temperature range of; -10°C to +80° and an intuitive plug and play design that eliminates lengthy installations, the Polar series is ideal for any lab.
The Accel 250 & 500 set themselves apart from other Lab Chillers by offering full range cooling. With this convenient feature, customers can rapidly cool their application down from +80°C utilizing the refrigeration system while most other Chillers require they be cooled down to 40°C before the refrigeration compressor can be turned on. The main difference between the Accel 250 & 500 is the level of cooling capacity 250 watts and 500 watts. The Accel 500 watt chiller offers an extremely fast cool down time based on a ~3 L reservoir, and allows for an Ambient to -10 in less than 17 minutes. Both systems have access to all of the options; trolley, force/suction pump, USB port, and liquid level sensor. The trolley option makes moving the machine around the laboratory an easy action, and with no open bath there is no risk of spilling the liquid inside.
The Polar Series is ideal for many applications such as chemical reaction control, separations, spectroscopy and surface science. The energy-saving mode makes the series an environmentally-friendly option for any laboratory. The feature activates a responsive control that will allow the chillers to run with minimal energy consumption and the cool down time from high to low temperature is not increased. The operating requirements for the Polar Series are approximately 10 amps with both heater and refrigeration at maximum power, typical running is ~ 6 amps. These innovations can put hundreds of dollars per machine back into your laboratory annually.
