RapidCycler 2 paved the way for high-speed temperature cycling which revolutionized the PCR industry. By combining glass thin walled capillary tubes and air as the cycling medium we were able to cut sample temperature lag to less than a second, therefore yielding high temperature ramp rates ensuring both temperature uniformity and rapid heat exchange within the sample.   
   
This foundational technology has been incorporated into many of their current products, including the R.A.P.I.D., R.A.P.I.D. LT and LC32 systems.   
   
The RapidCycler has been discontinued, although Idaho Technology is committed to its users and supporting this instrument.
