Thermo Scientific Mass Spectrometric Immunoassay (MSIA) Tips are the next generation immunoaffinity approach simplify peptide/protein enrichment for downstream quantification using mass spectrometers. Mass spectrometry has become an important tool for biomarker research because of its sensitivity, accuracy and capability of resolving post-translational modifications (PTMs).   
   
Many protein biomarkers in biological samples are present in low concentrations (picograms/mL) and it is necessary to concentrate and enrich them for downstream mass spectrometric analysis. Immuno-enrichment is commonly employed; however, most conventional methods are laborius and not able to deliver reproducible enrichment of biomarker expressed in such low concentrations.   
   
Thermo proprietary MSIA tips provide a simple and effective way to enrich and concentrate target proteins down to femtomole level. This sample preparation method is reliable and can be performed in a semi-automation fashion with the new Thermo Scientific Finnpipette Novus i multichannel electronic pipettes (for immuno-precipitation) and adjustable pipette stand. MSIA purification can also be automated in 96-well format on Thermo Scienific Versette Liquid Handling Platform, improving your sample throughput.
