Features of Assay Kits

GPCR Assays, G-Protein Coupled Receptor Assays      Abnormal function, expression, and regulation of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) have been implicated in many diseases. Molecular Devices provides a number of assay kits to support GPCR life science and drug discovery research, including assays that monitor the accumulation of a second messenger, such as cAMP/cGMP, calcium, or beta-arrestin, in response to GPCR activation, instead of traditional and limited ligand-binding assays.     

Ion Channel Assays      FLIPR Membrane Potential Assay Kits from Molecular Devices deliver higher throughput than previous automated FLIPR System protocols while showing good correlation with manual patch clamp data.     

IMAP Enzyme Assays      Molecular Devices' proprietary IMAP® technology provides researchers with a non-radioactive, generic assay applicable to a wide variety of protein kinases, phosphatases, and phosphodiesterases. IMAP technology is a homogeneous "mix and read" platform amenable to high throughput screening.     

Transporter Assays      Molecular Devices offers two transporter assay kits for researchers studying transport targets. With the Neurotransmitter Transporter Uptake Assay Kit, researchers can screen for live-cell kinetic uptake for three key neurotransmitters: serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. The QBT™ Fatty Acid Uptake Assay Kit lets users monitor fatty acid transporter protein activity with real-time uptake kinetics and is ideally suited for high throughput screening applications. Both assay kits eliminate the use of radioactive compounds resulting in easier reagent handling, reduced disposal costs, and elimination of safety risks associated with radiolabel assays.     

Contaminant Detection Assays      Molecular Devices offers two contaminant detection assay kits under its Threshold brand. The Threshold Immunoligand Assay (ILA) measures a broad range of analytes such as proteins and microorganisms for biopharmaceutical development and production. The Threshold Total DNA Assay Kit quantitatively measures picograms of single-stranded DNA with broad sequence specificity. Established for over 10 years, the Threshold Total DNA Assay Kit is used by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide and is recognized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for DNA contaminate testing.
