A programmable, multipurpose, automated SPE system, capable of processing aqueous samples directly from their original containers.

The SPE-DEX 4790 Automated Extraction System is a fully automated SPE system designed to rapidly process environmental water samples using solid phase extraction for trace level analysis of organic chemical contaminants. The SPE-DEX 4790 also supports the automation of oil and grease extractions (EPA 1664) globally. Sample volumes ranging from 40 mL up to (8) liters are accommodated.

SPE-DEX 4790 is the only extractor system ever designed to handle both clean and particulate laden environmental samples such as:

  • Ground water
  • Waste water
  • Drinking water
  • Solid-waste water
  • Process water (influent and effluent)
  • Fresh and sea water

Fast Sample Processing:

A large diameter, straight fluid-flow path combined with solid phase disk technology make the SPE-DEX® 4790 Extraction System fast and easy to keep clean, and tolerant of extremely dirty samples. The 4790 extractor has automated Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) technology for hundreds of environmental labs already and is quickly replacing many older, labor-intensive, manual extraction techniques like liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) and continuous liquid-liquid extraction (CLLE) In addition to delivering accurate, more consistent results, automated SPE slashes both sample processing times and solvent consumption while yielding far more consistent results.

With the SPE-DEX 4790 system solvent consumption is cut by up to 90% compared to traditional liquid-liquid extraction methods and most sample process steps take less than (10) minutes for most 1-Liter water samples. Unattended operation increases the overall productivity of your lab as personnel are freed up for other projects. Variability between chemists' is eliminated. The SPE-DEX® 4790 Extractor processes samples directly from the original sample bottle. It automatically delivers all solvents, regulates sample processing, disk soak and drying times, rinses the sample bottle and collects the final extract prior to concentration.
