Board Mount Digital Air Velocity & Temperature Sensor
The RFS300 board mounted, digital air velocity and temperature sensor, is the smallest form factor air velocity sensor available on the market. Designed to be soldered directly to a printed circuit board, or mounted to a surface-mount socket for easy removal or maintenance, the board-mounted sensor uses dual bead sensing technology from Degree Controls which yields excellent accuracy in a very small package. The sensor is calibrated for flow velocities of 0.5 - 10 m/s (100-2000 fpm), at 10% accuracy. The board-mount sensor answers the need of clients who require the smallest possible sensor size for positioning flexibility, and have the ability to put the drive circuitry elsewhere on the board. The sensor leverages the onboard DC voltage and I2C/UART bus. A development board is also available for rapid testing and prototyping, where the sensor and drive circuits can be placed as a fully functional assembly, in daughter board form. Utilizing RoHS-compliant, dual sensing elements, the board mount sensor provides air velocity, as well as temperature data and communicates digitally over I2C or UART protocols. Calibration of the sensor head is done after install onto the customer board, using simple, automated digital commands.
