Board Mount Air Velocity Control Sensor

The F600 offers real time air velocity and air temperature measurement, filter blockage detection, in a small compact packaging design for environmental sweeps of critical board components. Designed for board-mounted, embedded applications where in-situ airflow sensing is required, the F600 allows the PCB to communicate impending shutdowns due to a fan failure or airflow blockage. High power density and high availability are limiting the effectiveness of simpler, more common temperature sensors. As a result, DegreeC designed the F600 board-mounted airflow sensor to offer electronics manufacturers a cost-effective way to anticipate thermal rise before it occurs by direct monitoring of airflow at critical board locations. The F600 allows manufacturers to build in an extra level of protection for their costly electronic components. By alerting appropriate parties through an airflow loss alarm, or by automatically reducing system power in the event of airflow reduction or loss, the F600 can protect your electronics from overheating.

Features of F600
  • Output signal easily accessible by your environmental monitoring system * Provides a rapid response to fan failure, or airflow blockage, prior to component temperature rise * 0.1" pitch design, allows for easy interface to existing fan connections * Overall velocity range of 0.5 m/s to 5.0 m/s (100-1000 fpm) * Accurate to ±10% of reading within the range of 200 to 1000 fpm at 25°C * RoHS Level 6 compliant to meet emerging "green" standard * The small sensor height of 0.5” and flush PC mounting are designed to keep the profile as low as possible on the PC board. * Cost effective air velocity sensor, at an air?ow switch price point
