G9™ VTN, Human Recombinant (Vitronectin) is a 478 amino acid protein that belongs to a member of the pexin family. Vitronectin is an abundant glycoprotein found in serum and the extracellular matrix. It promotes human pluripotent stem cell adhesion, proliferation and spreading, while maintaining pluripotency. G9 VTN is supplied frozen as a 1ml vial containing 0.5mg/ml (100x) stock solution sufficient to coat 100 wells of a 6-well plate or 20 T75 flasks. After thawing it can be diluted with G9 Maintenance Medium or PBS (calcium, magnesium free), and the G9 VTN solution applied to standard cell culture treated plastic ware for 1 hour at room temperature. The thawed G9 VTN 100x stock solution and G9 VTN-coated plates or flasks are stable for up to 1 week at 4°C.
Using G9™ VTN, Human Recombinant as the matrix for culturing human pluripotent stem cells in PluriQ™ G9™ Maintenance Medium results in feeder-free monolayer expansion of the cells which is ideal for transfection. Human pluripotent stem cells grown on G9 Vitronectin readily dissociate upon non-enzymatic treatment with G9 Versene, making passaging of human pluripotent stem cells rapid and easy.
