Lab Improvements is the manufacturer of CapTrack, a portable, benchtop-sized device that manages refrigerated inventory and recaps specimen tubes for medical laboratories.
Traditional large-scale automation systems used by high volume laboratories are not practical for smaller facilities, such as those found in hospitals. As a result, laboratories of this size are forced to process samples manually. This significantly increases the risk of sample contamination, repetitive strain injury, and could potentially expose staff to bloodborne pathogens.
Our patent pending technology uses a combination of robotics, process control, and software to save time and money increase the quality of laboratory results and reduce risk.

Features of CapTrack
Capping
By automating the recapping of tubes, your lab can increase productivity while also significantly decreasing the risk of sample contamination, and staff exposure to bloodborne pathogens and repetitive strain injury.
Tracking
The CapTrack allows for the quick retrieval of samples from refrigerated storage, users simply enter the specimen ID into the 7” touch screen located on the device to quickly find the date and time the sample was processed, the rack number it was assigned to as well as the tube height and cap color.
Refrigerated Specimen Management
The Cleanout function generates a daily report that tells your staff which storage racks only contain samples older than a set number of days or hours. This allows your lab to maximize cold storage by returning racks to service when the specimens are no longer usable while also insuring valid specimens are not disposed of prematurely.
Warranty and Service
The CapTrack provides a service that labs can not easily go without which is why Lab Improvements offers a limited lifetime warranty and breakdown replacement program in the event of emergency service or repair. Should your machine need to be returned for service, a loaner machine will be drop shipped directly to your lab. The settings and database information from your previous unit can be seamlessly transferred over and operation resumed so there is little to no impact on workflow or specimen management.
