Features of 432 Conductivity Detector
  • High sensitivity and stability due to its multi-electrode flow cell and user-programmable temperature control, which automatically adjusts the oven temperature to minimize baseline drift
  • Reduced flow path volume for narrow-bore applications
  • Increased operational uptime with self-diagnostics
  • Easy, unattended routine analyses with autozero and autoranging capabilities
  • Sophisticated circuitry efficiently isolates detection electrodes from sources of transient electronic noise for optimal sensitivity
  • Autozero feature automatically sets the baseline to zero at the start of each run eliminating the need for manual adjustments
  • Autorange ensures a precise conductivity base range
  • Leak sensors alerts user if leak is detected in flow cell

Low noise equals high sensitivity

The low noise performance of the 432 detector ensures that you obtain an exceptional range of sensitivity. The sophisticated circuitry of the 432 detector efficiently isolates detection electrodes from sources of transient electronic noise for optimal sensitivity.

Noise specifications often vary among other conductivity detectors. When noise specifications are based upon 18 MO water (conductivity of approximately 1-2 µS), the result is artificially low noise. During real analyses, the background conductivity is somewhat greater (chemically suppressed, 10-16 µS) or significantly greater (single column, 200-2000 µS) than zero. Therefore, the noise specification measured at low conductivity is often misleading. The 432 noise specification of less than 0.005 µS/cm is measured using 1mM KCl (1 mL/min.) with a background conductivity of 147 µS, assuring ultimate sensitivity with Waters 432 Conductivity Detector whether you use single-column or suppressor-based ion chromatography.
