Waters - Prep SFC 100

Manufactured by  Waters
Follow this Equipment

The first commercialized supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) system specifically designed for seamless, mass-triggered purification.

Purification scientists around the globe are excited by the latest advancements in supercritical fluid chromatography, or SFC, that are now backed by the powerful support of Waters. Since SFC uses CO2 as its main solvent, it is a critically important solution for purification laboratories that want to be more green. And SFC means much less time and money spent on both. Which is good for science, and good for the world we live in.

Offering seamless, mass-triggered purification, the SFC/MS Prep 100 mass-directed purification system is the automated way to improve laboratory efficiency and turn-around times by virtually eliminating solvent disposal and clean-up.

The SFC Prep 100 system utilizes high pressure CO2 as the primary mobile phase resulting in faster equilibration, lower pressure drops, solvent reduction and lower cost per sample. The process is gentle on the stationary phase, reproducible, and applicable to a wide range of compounds. The system can also be configured for UV-directed purification.

UV-Directed Purification with SFC

When fraction collection is based on UV absorbance, multiple fractions may result, requiring further analysis to determine the fraction of interest. With the SFC 100 System, run samples around the clock with unprecedented versatility and consistency. Upgrading the capability of the UV-directed system to mass-directed is available for enhanced selectivity and capability.

MS-Directed Purification with SFC

When fraction collection is triggered by mass detection, fewer fractions result since you collect only the peak containing the mass of interest. The SFC/MS 100 System provides you with the flexibility of using high-throughput selective mass-directed fraction collection from hundreds of samples.

Built around the 3100 Mass Detector, a compact, single quadrupole, atmospheric pressure ionization mass detector, the SFC/MS 100 System is designed for everyday mass-directed purification applications. The system's fluidics layout, enhanced software features, and hardware capabilities combine with OBD Column Technology for simplified operation.

For those carrying out purification in an open access environment, the Fractionlynx Application Manager combined with AutoPurify further streamlines the isolation and purification process. AutoPurify allows laboratories to automate the purification process by linking the analytical pre–screen, (performed on a separate analytical SFC system), purification, and fraction analysis (performed on a separate analytical SFC system). By using the analytical pre–screen information, the system can optimize the purification run to reduce the run time, reduce the solvent usage, and enhance the quality of the collected fraction.
