nebulizer missing

I keep getting an interlock on my AA 800 when in the flame technique.  It is continuing to say "nebulizer missing" even though it is in place and set up properly.  Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it? I tried moving the magnetic circle that attaches to the tubing but it's not helping

I believe that on the burner head itself there is a magnetic strip that "has to" be aligned on the backside of the burner head rather than toward the front. You should not be able to see this strip while the burner head is installed.Turn the burner head 180 degrees.

I don't think that's the issue. Normally when my burner head isn't in the proper position, I get a specific error message about it. This is only about the nebulizer

There is a magnet on the nebulizer side arm clamp and a sensor that recognizes this magnet on the right side of the burner. Turn the magnet so it's flat side faces toward the back of the instrument.

I guess the magnets that comes attached to those nebulizers lose their strength over time? Because I had Perkin-Elmer come out to service the instrument when I couldn't fix it and they simply replaced the magnet next to the nebulizer with a brand new on and the interlock instantly went away.
