Empower 3: Service Availability Metrics

Hello,

Client is asking for monthly Service availability metrics for Empower 3.  Is there a way inside of Empower to achieve this? (ie. Analytics Viewer or System Monitor?

Thank you for any help provided.

Yes, these metrics are now built into Empower 3 Chromatography Data Software. Empower 3 can calculate the number of injections, the number of minutes the system was collecting data ("uptime") and also display uptime as a percent of a month, assuming 24-hour operation for 30 days in interactive dashboards, in Empower 3 Feature Release 2 (released May 2013) and later.  Customized metrics can be displayed after engaging Waters for Empower Driven Services.

Thank you very much Karen. This will help at least show the total time the system was actually used, even though it doesn't show time available. Since it breaks it down by system/acquisition node it at least provides a good metric. Brad

Hi Karen, does the Empower 3 Services looks at every piece of Chromatography on the Empower3 network or just the Waters instruments?

Hi Brad, sorry for the delay, I was checking with product management. Yes Empower Driven Services collects analytics from all systems connected to Empower. Since it is using the data collected / acquired to calculate the metrics, it will even give data for non-controlled instruments, i.e., where analog signals only are collected through a SAT/IN.

Hope this helps - Karen
