Greethings from México.

My name is Idelfonso Hernández C.

I am thinking that you are working with a packed column and the peaks of Methane and Carbon Monoxide are very together.

I am thinking the column is MS-5A, if it is correct, the column is necesary a recondictioned to 300 ºC by 12 hour with carrier gas flow  ( 30 ml/min) .

Carrier gas should be good purity (99.999 % of purity).

My e-mail is aysa96@hotmail.com for details.

After the reconditioning, the width of the peaks are most extensive, but is possible to work.

I hope help you with my comments.

Madji, regenerate may not be the best word here. Cut 5 to 10 cm off the front of the analytical column then reinstall. Bake the column over night with a low flow of carrier gas with over at about 20 to 40 degrees below max. MW

Madjid,

I have to believe you are using a packed column as one of the previous posts suggests. Find the manufacturers recommendations and follow them. The other previous post refers to capillary columns which I do not believe is appropriate in your case.
