Unable to calibrate

Hi,

I have only recently started using this machine (Seven multi). I have calibrated with no problem for the last 2 weeks. However with the last 2 days, I have been unable to calibrate the left probe. When I put the left probe into buffer 7 and press Cal, I get 3 broken lines and no value. i have checked the probe and it seems in good condition, please note this is a relatively new probe. Can anyone please troubleshoot for me. Thanks Katie

Do you get a reading when the electrode is placed in the buffer normally i.e. not trying to calibrate?

Hi Katie,

I spoke with our Technical Support Team and Michael answers:

What is the model and serial number of the pH electrode? Perform the mV measurements below.

Using pH buffers 4, 7 and/or 10, make a note of the readings and compare the values to the following:

Buffer   mV .

4              180 ±20

7              0.0 ±20

10           -180 ±20

I hope this helps a little and I'm happy to ask Michael more if you have the model and serial number of the pH elecrode.  His email address is also uslabtechsupport@mt.com.  Thank you, Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

The model number of the probe is Meetler Toledo Inlab Epert Pro-ISM and the number on the cable is 3440397. I have read the following,

Buffer mV .

4     180 ±20  My reading was 2000mV and then cut out to 3 broken lines

7     0.0 ±20  My reading was -840.6mV

Thanks,

Katie

Hi Katie,

Michael replied and said that it is a dead electrode from 2013 and  unfortunately, you will need to replace.

Thank you,

Jennifer
