Hello,

Nancy, from our Tech Support team, answers below:

The slope is calculated from the actual mV values that are the raw signal for the pH meter. The mV are converted to pH (a concentration).  The only way to change the mV readings, and therefore the slope, is to either buy a new electrode, or try to maintain the electrode that we have.  A slope from 90% to 95% is actually good for "routine" measurements, and a slope of 95 to 105% is good for "accurate" measurements.

We also have a troubleshooting guide and also our Guide to pH Theory as PDFs.  Please email our tech support group at USLabTechSupport@mt.com if you would like a copy or have another question for Nancy.

Thanks,

Jennifer
