Configuring 717 to an API4000 Mass spec
How can I configure the waters 717plus autosampler to inject samples onto an API4000 mass spec? What is the configuration on the AUX/IO cable?

The answer is in the operator's manual for the Water's injector. The A/S has external contacts on the back which can send/receive the inject trigger.
