Injector doesn't heated up

We have a GC THermo (GC focus) in our Faculty, the faculy reveived it since 20 years, but they don't used it and never put it on.

We try to used it

First we didn't arrive because we don't see any thing in chromatogram,we thought that may becomes from detector or injector,

we arrive to correct the gaz flow and eliminate the leaking of vector gaz, now the injector and the detector don't heat up,

the question is, may it is an electric problem? or it is a FID and not a TCD? how we can know what is? FID or TCD? in the back there are to places of gases!

and how we should do?

You can send us a manual?

Thermo Service in Lebanon doesn't want to help us. we prefer work with you directly

Dear Iyad,

there is definitely He coming at the back of the GC and most probably your detector is TCD this is why you do not see the DPFC fittings for H2 and Air. Detector gases are controlled electronically from the DPFC while the He needed for the injector could be controlled manually (there is a screw at the back to set the flow). You can download the manual from the official Thermo Scientic webpage

Good luck
