I'm on the road today but when I get back home tomorrow I will get it for you unless someone else gets it to you sooner.

Hi there.

Just following up on this, I have a unit that is throwing an S7 and would like to dig deeper to investigate.  Any chance I could get a copy of this service manual to facilitate taking my unit apart?

Alernatively, can any one tell me how to get the front cover off?  Does it just pop off or is it held on by "mystery" hidden screws?

Thanks-Anthony

The Spindle assembly is broken down into the three following part numbers.

Spindle Assy 392081

Hub Assy 369198

O-ring 812715

From the manual:

1. Remove the Control Panel Assembly by pushing the supplied 4mm hex driver in the hole on the top left side of the instrument while gently pulling on the left side of the panel. Once the left side is free, gently pull the panel out and towards the left. Place the assembly on top of the instrument.

2. Remove the lower front panel. To do this, remove the two screws at the top front comers (sic - corners?) of the instrument, then lift the lower front panel out and up. Set the panel aside.

An S7 diagnostic relates to a loss of the Battery Back up data.  The ONLY way to clear the diagnostic is to use the following key sequence: [ENTER] 911 and then push the {CE} button.  After that you need to reset the system clock by the following key sequence: [ENTER] 555.  The year is entered as the last two digits of the year and the clock is a 24 hour clock.  That literally is all that you can do and if it is a recurring problem then you will need service because the issue could be due to a faulty memory card, a defective Power Distribution board or Control Board.  There are no component level fixes on those boards because they are all surface mounted components so only boards are replaced in the field.

Thanks Jeff,

Much appreciated.  I always hate to just "pull" on things-it usually ends with broken plastic.
