The above FTIR has not been used for over three years. Everything seems to be working and all diagnotic test show the green tick, however the performance test just shows bad scans. I have checked inside the compartment and the laser and source are working, although checking the laser light is not visible from the sample compartment. I do not wish to spend a huge amount to get it running, any help I would be very greatful.

Reply byThanks very much for your reply, yes I have tried various scan speeds. Since my last post I have found that the light is visible from the sample compartment but when using the polystyrene standard for example, the light seems to be too high, not going through the round window. I have reset and aligned the instument but its still too high.

Can you add here an interferogram and diagnostics screenshot?

Under the diagnostics everthing is between the normal level (green tick) however the advance diagnostics the interferogram shows too many bad scans, which seems to point to the detector, hope this helps.
