Control viscometer from Linux / non windows

All the viscometers I have seen can only be controlled from Windows. All I need is to send a 'start' command of a default setting and receive the cP value back. A serial interface would be fine. I cannot see any API details from any of the manufactures I've looked at.

Any Pointers?

All the ones we have seen only run windows Herzog, Cannon, Tanaka and Koehler. What is the manufacturer of your viscometer?

Paul, StanCo Scientific inc

Yea that's what I've found.

We have a brookfield DV2.

I'll give them a call today, see if they can point me at a solution.

Thanks,

Steve
