No peaks coming out upon running of standards.

I use the Agilent 6890GC with 5793MSD. my parameter of interest is PAH. On running standards on the GCMSD, only the solvent peak comes out, after which no peaks are noted. GC is ok and MSD is tune is ok. I don't see peaks. I have new coloumn and gas flow through the coloumn is normal. Please can anyone suggest a possible action for peaks to come out?

If you are seeing the solvent peak and running trace analysis, there might be a problem with your method.  Typically for trace level PAH work, you run in splitless mode to maximize the amount of analyte on column.  To do this without blowing a filament requires that you utilize a solvent delay on the mass spec acquisition parameters typically about 2-3 minutes in length.  If you are running splitless with no solvent delay, you will have to zoom in drastically on the chromatogram to see your analytes.  If you are running split mode, you just wont see them at all.
