Load-displacement curve

Hello,

I did for my research an impact test with the CEAST 9340.

I get the load displacement curve. However this showed me a displacement which reach 20mm which is impossible for my material.

here is my question : is the displacement cumulative ? I mean, i was waiting for a curve the reach a maximal displacement and then go back to show the plastic deformation. How do we trace the elastic spring back ?

Hi,

I have a similar problem, but in my case I tested 2 samples and one recorded from 0 with a displacemt around 3mm and the second with the same setting showed a jump of 15mm to show the increase in force with a total displacement of around 18mm. Every sample after that had similar problem. Sully, hope you've find an answer and would love to know if the solution could help us.
