Spectronic 200 resetting itself

I just purchased an used/non working spectronic 200 model. The unit goes through start up OK, to the point of dark calibration. When it seems to be going to the next step, a click sound is heard and the spectrometer resets itself, to the point of starting all sequence again in an infinite loop. Do you thnk that may be the power supply that is short when trying to satrt the lamp and taking the whole instrument down? Have anyone see this defect?

The lamp is tested OK (meaning not open) and the power supply is a MEAN WELL PT-65-R14VAI.
