03.03.2023: I had this Error code today. I found that if the protective data accessory "plug/.cover", or a data cable, is not attached then I get the E. 9 (error code 9). I tested this theory by removing the data plug, I got the error. When I put it back in and turned the hot plate off then back on, the error code was cleared.

nbladesclarkprorx: I got the same error but I don't have a data plug. Could you please advice what is the electrical schematic of this plug? Can I put jumpers on the defined pins of this connector instead of the data plug?

hello. Error code E9 is not a fault condition indication. It can be resolved by connecting a temperature sensor to the 6-pin connector on the back. If you don't have a temperature sensor, connect the two terminals with a 3-5 ohm resistor. The two terminals are at 12 and 4 o'clock when the tip is at 6 o'clock. Sorry for the lack of explanation due to my poor English. ^^ Good luck.

mgonee: I really appreciate your help! I followed your advice connected the terminals for the temperature sensor located at the back of the device as you suggested and the E9 error is now resolved. Thank you!
